Suspended animation
|
This is without a doubt the most difficult impossible bottle creation I have undertaken to date. The puzzle consists of 16 individual hardwood bars which when assembled for the lattice block you see here. No glue was used in the assembly which took 4 hours of painstaking work to create.
The puzzle is suspended on a 5micron thread rendering it almost invisible except under close inspection The decanter is high quality lead crystal and weighs over 1.5kg (3lb) Height: 8" (20cm) Without the stopper Diam: 5.5" (13cm)

Nut oil
|
I found this little Victorian vinaigrette bottle at an antique fair and bought it without really knowing what to put in it. On returning home I noticed on my work bench were some old square brass nuts. As you can see the nut is obviously too large to go through the neck of the bottle! Suspended on it's silvery chain, it will become a feature talking point for any collector
This clearly is a one-of as bottles this delecate rarely survive.
Height : 5.25" (13.5cm) Aperture: 1.4cm (nut is 1.65cm)

Cardboard confusion
|
This classic paper puzzle suffered from one drawback, if spectator is allowed to handle it they may discover the secret. Well not when it is sealed in a mini flaggon which allows them to examine it from all angles but not to touch it. The puzzle consists of a single card with one fold and three cuts. Nothing else.

Decanter dilemma
|
This slender decanter was ideally suited to this classic wooden puzzle. The subtle etching does not obscure the puzzle within but I think adds to the overall appeal of this bottle. The puzzle is suspended on a clear monofilament line to allow it to be examined from all angles.
Each decanter will be different so scroll through the store to see what other versions are available.

Brass & Glass 1
|
This delicate Victorian water jug houses a strange guest! A solid brass ingot suspended on a fine silvery chain. The ingot can be viewed through 360 degrees with no clues as to how it got in there.
Although I have three versions of this puzzle, this is by far the most desirable as the fine detail work on the glass enhances the overall contrast between the solid brass and delicate exterior glass.Comes complete with its own display stand.
